2024 Team

I don’t even know how to choose just one benefit of the team, because everything was so valuable to me. I think the greatest benefit was the level of experience I got. I feel almost 100% comfortable and confident in my abilities going into the real world. I don’t know of many other graduating students that feel this way, so I think it’s really special that I can come out of school feeling so prepared. I also had the benefit of becoming super close with my teammates and I now have lifelong friends that I will always keep in touch with. Last but certainly not least, I learned how to not win a competition and yet still maintain confidence in my work, knowing that challenge just creates change and pushes you to be better.

There are many great benefits for being on the Brand Marketing Team. Obtaining great skills that are necessary in the real world and within business that we can all take with us when we get a full-time job. Being able to understand in depth how a campaign is made and decided upon with all the research, brainstorming and learning that things can and will change last minute especially in the real world but with less time. I remember in September I had no idea what an organizing idea was and now that’s all I look for when I see a campaign. By being a leader on the team I have learned a lot on how to delegate work, make creative decisions, work within a dedicated team, effective communication, perfecting a creative brief and more. By being on this team I truly feel prepared to enter the world of advertising and create a real-life campaign. I figured out what I want to do when I graduate just by being on the team, specifically in the creative department, and I am proud to say this team shaped me into a young professional.a

If I had to choose just one benefit, it would be gaining the experience of slowly becoming a professional. In the beginning, I was always confused why we were told you will be a different professional once you complete the campaign and being on this team. And I get it now. Not only do I feel I am a successful professional and have a new skill set that I can bring into the professional world, but I got to navigate within the team on how to work with other professionals. In the end we all really flourished into these new professionals that we most definitely were not in September. I think seeing this professional growth is the biggest benefit I have had.

Antonina Tudisco, Co-Executive Creative Director / Webmaster

I think the greatest benefit of being a member of the team was the first-hand, real-world experience we all gained by working directly on a campaign. Throughout my four years of college, I feel that the Brand Marketing Team was the only “class” that allowed me to put these concepts we’ve learned about in other classes to use and allowed us to see what it would be like to work in the field. It also helped me gain professional skills and solidified that marketing is the field I want to pursue for my professional career and is something I am passionate about. Also, getting to work closely with most of the team members throughout the past two semesters has shown what it will be like to work with a team of people in an actual marketing job and has taught me how to handle different situations accordingly.

The greatest benefit of being a member of this team was learning how to function in a team setting. I had to learn how to work with the people within my own department while also being able to communicate with people in other departments. It taught me the importance of everyone's position and role and how we must work together to create something amazing. It also taught me that I am capable of doing a lot more than I thought. I gained a lot of confidence in myself throughout this process, which makes me feel more prepared for the future.

Greatest benefit was getting a better understanding and learning about the different roles in a creative/advertising agency. No class at Pace gives you this kind of insight. This is a good introduction to what real advertising agency experience is like.

Ameerah Karim, Chief Operating Officer / Executive Producer

To me the greatest benefit of being a member of the team was the experience that I gained. Both professors said during our interviews and during the first semester that we would become professionals by the end of this. That is exactly what I feel I am, a professional. I feel very accomplished. When I started this in August of 2023, I would still consider myself a student, but now I consider myself a professional, and I feel prepared to work in this industry.

Being a part of the team was the most valuable and rewarding experience I had at Pace. Aside from all of the hard skills I acquired and marketing knowledge I gained from this, I think the greatest benefit was learning how to work on a team. Of course, we have had so many opportunities to work in groups throughout our academic careers, but the Brand Marketing Team was the most accurate sneak peek into the real professional world. Being on the team challenged me to step out of my comfort zone and expose myself to new ideas. We worked together closely across different departments in order to produce all produce a singular result; everyone was able to contribute in the areas where they excel and seeing all of our work come together was extremely gratifying. Working hard together for so long also allowed us to form deep connections with each other, and I’m grateful for the memories and friendships I made working on this project throughout the year. In addition, I learned a lot of time management and organization skills. I went through the year with the team, an internship, a part time job, and all my other classes. I was concerned about the time commitment going into this, but I eventually learned how to balance it all and was able to take on multiple leadership roles in the team. It was a lot of work, but it was all so worth it, and I’m so glad I decided to join.

As a member of the Brand Marketing Team, I feel that I got as close to real-life experience working in the advertising world possible in an academic setting. Along with this, I think membership in the Brand Marketing Team is hugely instrumental in teaching you how to work in teams which is an extremely valuable skill in the professional world. While being a member is challenging and time consuming, it is an extremely rewarding experience in the end, and it forces you to learn how to manage your time as you need to balance your regular coursework while dedicating a lot of your time to the team.

Danaley Silan, Director of Paid Medi / Co-Executive Director of Presentation

The greatest benefit in being a member of the Brand Marketing Team is the opportunity to work with peers that not only inspired me to produce better work but also challenged me based off their work and level of commitment. I have noticed throughout my collegiate experience working in groups in classes can come with many struggles because of the group members. They either do not help with the work that needs to be done, or they do not contribute meaningful work. Being a member of the Brand Marketing Team, I noticed the quality of effort and work that was produced, which speaks to each member's commitment to the team. Working with the team only made me want to be better and prepare myself for the professional world. The hands-on experience was another benefit that I enjoyed. Every member having their own responsibility and trusting that the work will get completed allowed everyone to put their all into the work they were assigned, which added to the team's overall work and experience.

There are a lot of benefits of being on the Brand Marketing Team. From learning how to work with a large team of individuals, working under pressure, learning how to deliver the best possible quality of work, expanding your skillset in the preferred area of choice(department), tipping your toes into 3 completely different types of work across creative, media and account planning teams, and most importantly leadership. For me the greatest benefit of being on this team was learning how to be a leader and how to be accountable for the work that my department delivered since I was the Executive Director of Account Planning. I am very glad that I was able to go through that experience since it taught me that being a leader requires to be sympathetic to the people under your supervision yet demanding, too. As a leader I learned that communication is very important to ensure a smooth team environment, and I am very grateful for the members that were in my department. Overall, it was tough at times, however, I am still VERY grateful for this experience since I learned a lot within research, how to be a good team player, how to be diplomatic and polite to other members of the team, and most importantly I truly met some great folks on this team who I hope to stay in touch with after graduation.

Zhenya Naydonov, Executive Director of Account Planning

The Brand Marketing Team has truly given me a sense of the real world. I feel as though I have gained valuable experience on the marketing industry and feel prepared for a full time position post grad. I will always remember my time on the team and reference my work from the team throughout my career.

Marcella Myaskovsky, Account Planning / Presenter

For me, the greatest benefit from being a member of the team was to be able to understand the workflow, workload, intensity, and stress that come not just with every advertising campaign that I might work in the future, but with the whole industry. I love marketing, especially advertising, but both of those things are still very general career paths, and this experience has helped me figure out what sections and departments of an advertising campaign I want to be part of.

The greatest benefit of being part of the Brand Marketing Team has been the valuable hands-on experience and knowledge I've acquired. During my interview for the team last year, I was assured that this opportunity would mold me into a professional, and it has done just that. The experience gained through the team is truly distinct from that of a typical marketing class. The tasks performed within the Brand Marketing Team mirror those of marketing professionals. Additionally, another significant benefit of this experience is the comprehensive understanding of all aspects of an Integrated Marketing Communications campaign. As a member of the media department, I've developed a thorough grasp of media planning and strategy, which has proven beneficial in my other coursework. Moreover, the connections made within the team have been invaluable. Collaborating with peers who share similar goals and aspirations has not only refined my collaboration skills but also provided me with the opportunity to understand campaign development across various departments.

I believe I was very fortunate to be a part of this team because it really was a defining experience for me in college. It gave me hands-on experience, and I was able to learn more about marketing and how it is used in a professional environment than from any typical class. This experience truly was worth it because the work I have done in the team gives me so much more confidence as a new graduate, and for this experience I am very grateful.
